Criminal Record

Sometime back, on another site, I mentioned that I had a criminal record, viz "Stairway to Heaven" by Rolf Harris. I'm very much afraid that, thanks to Limewire I have a worse transgression.

(It has to be on a line by itself, as it would probably contaminate anything it comes into contact with.)

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go listen to some Leonard Nimoy to recalibrate my ears.

And, with a post entitled 'Criminal Record', two out of four Google ads are for David Lee Roth records. Cruel.

No, I haven't heard that one, but I did catch his cover of "Space Oddity" by David Bowie. You know, the one with the Colliery band and an irate Yorkshireman.

A classic.

However, there is a big difference between trying to be funny (Otway) and being so bad its hilarious (Nimoy). I'm not entirely sure where Rolf Harris falls on that continuum, probably 'trying to be funny but being so bad at it that he actually is funny, just not in the way he intended.'

While Harris' "Stairway" is a bit silly, a does work as a song. His "Boh Rap", on the other hand, sounds like he forgot to bring his talent into the studio. Imagine Bill Murray singing "Slave to Love" in "Lost in Translation".
