It's not in your rational self-interest to allow other people to go hungry or to lack necessities like health care just because you're unwilling to contribute your fair share to the social contract you were born into. The world is not a better place if people are homeless or trapped into poverty because the only skill you recognize is the ability to separate people from their wallets.

"Chris Exline, a Republicans Abroad board member, had placed a McCain-Palin sign in his shop's window in Wan Chai. He said he would remove it. Still, the loss, Mr Exline said, was "distressing, and it's scary". "The reason that it's so scary is that I've just been hit with a 15 per cent increase in my income taxes," Mr Exline said. " Typical Republican: cannot stop regurgitating talking points. He's only going to be hit with an increase in taxes of 11.5% if he earns more than 2.87 million USD per year, and I believe he'll have a large tax-free allowance as an American abroad anyway. He'll have an 8.7% increase if earning more than about 603,000 USD per year. If he's earning more than 3.00 million USD per year, he should suck it up and pay his taxes and contribute to society like everyone else.
