Dave's Block List

If you've been pointed to this page by receiving a rejection notice from an email you sent, you should know that your email has been bounced because:

  • your IP address has been used to send spam,
  • your IP address has been used to attempt to relay spam through this server.

The removal procedure is to wait until the heat death of the sun. AND STOP SPAMMING!

If you're wondering what the DBL is, it's a list of all IP addresses which have connected to my mail server and attempted to send me spam or relay through my server. I reject a lot of spam using other blacklists, so mostly it gets relay attempts. It's built based on analysis of my mail logs.

Spam is not about 'freedom of speech'. Spam is *not* speech, it's theft. Spam is forcing the costs of advertising to the recipients by stealing bandwidth. Spam is about unwelcome intrusion.

relay.dbl.diaspoir.net

This list consists of every IP which attempts to relay through my mail server. There is no reason why anyone from outside should attempt to relay through my server without my permission, so I reject them. It's spammer behaviour.

If you are on this list, it is because you have attempted to relay through my mail server. This will be a verifiable fact which I can produce logs for, so don't complain, don't whine, don't spout stupid legal threats.

Yes, I am perfectly aware that some open relay testers like ORDB.org are blocked because they've tested me for relaying.

yahoo.dbl.diaspoir.net

This list consists of every IP which has sent spam to my yahoo.com email address. I've had that address for a long time, and it gets very, very little legitimate mail. It gets a whole pile of spam, mostly Korean and Chinese, but plenty of American stuff too.

If your IP is on this list, you have sent spam to the mailbox. I don't care if your system was hijacked or sent the spam yourself. If you can't secure your systems, don't leave them exposed on the internet.

spam.dbl.diaspoir.net

This list consists of every IP which has send spam to my network here. Not just the originating IP: I include the entire network because, in my experience, the spammers will change IPs within the network.

If your IP is on this list, you have sent spam to the mailbox. I don't care if your system was hijacked or sent the spam yourself. If you can't secure your systems, don't leave them exposed on the internet.

Currently, the only network on this list is wp.pl, whos have sent me porn spam and not replied to complaints within a reasonable time (24 hours).
